This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bail, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice for anyone. For any of those, you need the issuing court or the police department named on the case.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Here is where the questions people ask most often actually belong in Norfolk County.
- Whether a warrant exists: ask the Clerk-Magistrate's office at the District Court division that serves the municipality, or the Superior Court clerk for an indicted case
- A warrant after a missed court date: the court that recorded the default holds the file, so start with that division rather than with the county jail
- Resolving or clearing a warrant: talk with a licensed Massachusetts attorney and with the issuing court about a recall, a voluntary appearance, or paying a payment-only default
- A charge-based arrest warrant: the issuing court sets the charge and the bail, and the police department named in the record serves it
- A police report or incident record: request it from the city or town department that created it, through that department's records access officer
Norfolk County has no single warrant counter, so two offices cover most of what a reader needs. The Clerk of Courts keeps the Superior Court docket and answers questions about Superior Court cases. The Sheriff's Office runs the jail and house of correction and holds custody and bail records.

The Sheriff's own public records page states that the office is a jail and house of correction, not an arresting or police authority and not a court, and it directs police record requests to the city or town department and charge questions to the court.
